Dispatch usually lives in someone’s head. A whiteboard shows the week, a group chat carries the details, and the dispatcher is the single point of failure. It works until two jobs land on one truck, a driver takes a load that will not fit, or nobody can say whether the delivery leg was ever assigned.

Pick the work

Unassigned shipments are listed with their job number, lane, cubic feet and status. Select one or several to send together as a consolidated load; a running total shows the cubic feet and weight you are about to dispatch.

Match the driver

Store Stash ranks your drivers on three axes and shows each as a chip you can read at a glance:

• Lane — does the driver’s route cover this move?
• Deliver-by — can they hit the delivery window?
• Capacity — does the load actually fit in the truck?

Each driver also shows a capacity meter (needed cubic feet against remaining room) and whether they are on your own team or the wider network.

Send the offer

The driver receives the offer on their phone with the lane, size, deliver-by date and pay, and accepts or rejects it. Until they accept, the job shows as offered rather than assigned — so the board never lies about what is actually covered.

Pickup and delivery are separate legs

Long-distance moves rarely have one driver on both ends. Store Stash dispatches the pickup leg and the delivery leg independently, so a driver can collect goods into storage in one state and a different driver can deliver them weeks later. Each driver can only advance the stages of the leg they own, which stops the wrong person marking a job delivered.

After the offer: tracking and proof

Once a driver accepts, the job becomes an ordered trip — pickup, storage, delivery — and moves through six stages. Photos are required at pickup, storage and delivery before the shipment can advance, so proof is captured by default. On the Premium plan you also see every on-duty driver on a live map with their current shipment, status and ETA.

What is dispatch software for moving companies?

Dispatch software is the tool that decides which driver runs which job and sends them the work. For movers it matches a shipment to a driver by lane, available truck capacity and the delivery deadline, sends an offer the driver accepts or rejects on their phone, and then tracks the job to completion.
